Panola Co Historical & Genealogical Elmores, Griffis, Magee, McCullars, Hills RESEARCH Lou Bennett at the website of louellen2004 at yahoo dot com writes, "I have done research on Elmore, Griffis, Magee, McCullar and Hill since these are my family line. I had a great grandfather that was one of the earliest settlers in Tocowa. When there were hotels there, there was a boat that had dock on his land. I am told the Tocowa Spring was on my grandfather's property at one time and also at one time it was known as Elmore Spring, but I don't know the history on it. My dad and a first cousin of his built the rock foundation that is around it now." 1/9/07.... Can anyone add to this story???
