McMurry Family search prior to 1860

Great Site. Many of my ancestors are from Panola County. Oldest known is David Anderson McMurry 1841-1906 At the age of 21, David Anderson McMurry was shot in the bowels on May 31, 1862 at the battle of Seven Pines, near Richmond. He was a member of the Sardis Blues Company E of the 12th. Mississippi Regiment. It is told that he lay under a rail fence for three days after being shot. After the end of the Civil War, he married three times and outlived all three wives. The wives died during or shortly after childbirth. The house he lived in is still standing. It is located at 639 Sullivant Road in Batesville, Mississippi. The injury to David Anderson McMurry was reported in the June 11, 1862 edition of the Weekly Panola Star, Volume 7, Number 21. He was mustered on April 20, 1861 and he left for battle on May 2, 1861. We have information on all of his decendants, but no information prior to 1860 other than a birthdate. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks, -Dave
